If you live in New York City there is a good chance that you have taken a bike ride or two down the busy city streets or through one of the world famous parks. Currently there are about 30,000 cyclists that participate in this club each year.

Another one of the major cycling clubs in NYC is the New York Cycle Club (NYCC). This club is one of the largest recreational cycling clubs in the city itself. The NYCC was founded in 1936 which makes it one of the most historic cycling clubs in the United States. Over the years the New York Cycle Club has gained in popularity to the point where it currently has over 2,000 members. Volunteers from this membership work year round to organize different rides throughout the year. Specifically, the NYCC runs a program in the spring know as Spring Training which is nationally recognized as being a superior training regimen.

The Staten Island Bicycling Association (SABA) is another group that sponsors rides throughout the year. This group is unique because they concentrate on having rides in the Staten Island area and servicing members of the local Staten Island Community. The SABA is affiliated with the League of American Bicyclists. This organization is a nationally recognized group that is responsible for promoting cycling as a means of fun, fitness and transportation. The League of American Bicyclists was founded in the year 1880 which makes it one of the oldest and most respected organizations of its kind in the country.
